Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Simple Gmail Checker Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the Simple Gmail Checker Chrome extension and is available at https://play.im996.com/gmail-checker-privacy.
Overview
Simple Gmail Checker checks Gmail accounts that are already signed in to the current Chrome profile. It uses Gmail's unread feed to show unread counts, browser badge text, and optional desktop notifications. The extension does not ask for, collect, or store Gmail passwords, OAuth tokens, or payment information.
Information Processed
The extension may process the following information to provide its features:
- Gmail account identifiers, such as the email addresses detected from signed-in Gmail accounts.
- Unread mail counts and limited unread message preview details returned by Gmail, such as sender name, subject, short summary, message id, and Gmail message link.
- Extension settings, including check frequency, notification preference, selected account, disabled accounts, and account slot scan count.
- Extension state, including the last check time, detected account list, and badge count state.
How Information Is Used
Information is used only to detect signed-in Gmail accounts, display unread mail counts, open Gmail links you choose, remember your settings, and notify you when new unread email appears.
Local Storage And Data Sharing
Simple Gmail Checker stores settings and recent unread-mail metadata locally using Chrome extension storage. The extension does not sell, rent, transfer, or share your data with third parties. It does not send your Gmail data to im996.com or to any developer-operated server.
The extension communicates with Gmail at mail.google.com to request unread feed data. Your use of Gmail remains subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.
Chrome Permissions
The extension requests these permissions:
- https://mail.google.com/*: lets the extension request Gmail's unread Atom feed for Gmail accounts already signed in through the current Chrome profile.
- storage: saves extension settings and recent unread metadata locally in Chrome.
- alarms: schedules periodic unread-mail checks.
- notifications: shows desktop notifications when new unread mail is detected.
Your Choices
You can change check frequency, notification settings, and enabled accounts from the extension popup. You can also remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension's site and storage data from Chrome.
Changes To This Policy
This policy may be updated if the extension's features, permissions, or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
